I’m passionate about using my experience to help people like you understand what to do with employee stock options, RSUs, and other forms of equity compensation. I spend a lot of time developing resources to educate on this topic because I believe it’s important that you know how to best leverage this part of your financial life.

As the resource library has grown for your continued education, others have taken notice too — and that’s allowed me to expand the reach of the content I create to help more and more people.

Although new partnerships and opportunities have drawn me away from this blog a bit this year, I’ve been keeping busy with both writing fresh content for other sites, developing courses for other CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professionals who want to understand how to better serve their clients who have complex equity comp planning to do, and of course, working directly with my own clients.

Getting back to my core goal of writing on equity compensation in language that is easy to understand on this blog is at the top of the agenda for 2020. But in the meantime, I wanted to take a moment to check in with you here and share a little bit about what I’ve worked on over the last several months: more resources for making the most of your equity compensation.

Discussing How to Improve the Quality of Financial Advice with John Anderson at SEI

As we continue to expand our reach in equity compensation space, we’ve been fortunate to grow the business with clients (thank you, clients!).  Like-minded professionals inside our industry also understand what we are doing for our clients is specialized and not something just any wealth management firm can offer.

Recently, I sat down with John Anderson at SEI to discuss how advisors can develop specific knowledge to both better serve their clients and to grow their firms, based on what we’ve learned about growing our own business and better serving the folks we help.

John runs SEI’s Practically Speaking blog, which is designed to help financial advisors better run and grow their own businesses. You can check out our conversation here, where we discussed ways to deliver a better service, improve client relationships, and give better advice to the people who depend on you most: Advisor Niche Spotlight: Equity Compensation.

Find Additional Resources for Planning Around Your Equity Comp on MyStockOptions.com

Mystockoptions.com is a great resource for all things equity compensation, and if you’re looking to expand your knowledge, you may want to check it out. I’ve been excited to share some of my own writing with the site.

Managing editor Bruce Brumberg and his team initially wanted to share my post on how to integrate stock compensation into a retirement plan on the site. Since then, I’ve also developed other articles, podcasts, and ideas for the platform, including serving as a leading advisor offering my thoughts on everything from pre-IPO stock to year end planning:

  1. Leading Advisors Reveal 2019 Year-End Strategies For Equity Comp And Company Stock
  2. Initial Public Offerings: Leading Financial Advisors On Equity Compensation Planning

Education for Other Professionals, for Employees — and for You

As part of our continued expansion of content and reach in 2020, we have developed our first educational course, Equity Compensation: How to Maximize your ISOs for Cash Flow, Tax, and Investment Management. And for my professional friends, it’s CE-approved!

So far, we have the following events lined up to present this educational content:

  • February – Private Study Group Event
  • March – Drexel University Guest Speaker
  • March – FPA Philadelphia

We’re also working on additional courses on topics like ESPPs, RSUs, simple financial planning solutions, complex planning strategies, and more.

If you or your organization need professional experience, guidance, advice, or education on the topic of equity compensation, we’d love bring our knowledge to you.

In addition to the course we currently offer and those in development, we also partner with organizations to create customized educational content for your teams, providing the people within your business  the knowledge and education they need to make well-informed decisions regarding equity compensation.
